TheParty.Net was developed like so many other things - out of frustration with the status-quo.  Planning a party or event can be tiresome, tedious and downright hard if its complexity goes beyond tossing some burgers on a grill and grabbing a few 2-liter soda bottles, and my frustration peaked when I was tasked with coordinating an event that was beyond the city limits and my local phone book’s listings.

I needed to find a number of things on my must-have list: bakery, florist, catering and entertainment.  My nice-to-have list included a bartender, valet parking and one of those people who can make just about anything imaginable from hats to animals with sausage-shaped balloons. 

Search engines are fantastic tools, as are online phone directories – the problem is sifting through the unwanted results and not being able to pinpoint the vendor’s proximity to your event.  If I needed a florist, bakery, clown, banquet facilities, and a disc-jockey, I needed to do individual subject searches.  Suddenly, the imaginary light bulb above the head began to flicker!
